✓ Required Driver Process

GRUNT Driver Checklist

Before You Accept & Complete a GRUNT

Please review and follow these requirements for every GRUNT delivery. Your responsibility is to review the order, communicate with the customer, safely transport the materials, document the delivery, and complete the order professionally.

!
Read first. Communicate early. Don’t assume.

Most delivery problems can be avoided by reviewing the full order immediately after acceptance and messaging the customer before heading to pickup.

1
📍

Review the Order Before Accepting

When a GRUNT becomes available, you will see the general order details.

  • Pickup and drop-off locations
  • Requested delivery date and time
  • Vehicle requirements
  • General order information
  • Estimated driver earnings

Make sure the delivery works for your location, schedule, and vehicle before accepting.

If everything looks good, tap “Accept.”
2
🧾

After Accepting — Review All Order Details

Once you accept a GRUNT, additional order information will become available.

  • Customer-provided order details
  • Supplier receipt or order confirmation
  • Item descriptions and quantities
  • Photos or screenshots
  • Pickup instructions
  • Additional customer notes

Pay particular attention to the type, quantity, size, and approximate weight of the materials.

Important

Accepting the order is not the end of your review. Always review the complete order details before starting the delivery.

3
💬

Need More Information? Message the Customer

If anything about the order is unclear or you need additional information, contact the customer immediately using the GRUNT in-app messaging feature.

Suggested Message

“Hi, my name is [YOUR NAME], and I’m your GRUNT today. I reviewed your order and just need to confirm [YOUR QUESTION] before I head to the pickup. Please respond within 10 minutes so I can proceed with your delivery. Thank you!”

10-Minute Response Rule

Give the customer up to 10 minutes to respond. If you cannot get the information you need to safely or properly complete the delivery, do not proceed to pickup. Cancel the order through the GRUNT app.

4
🏋️

Determine If You Need Help Unloading

After reviewing the complete order details, ask yourself:

CAN I SAFELY UNLOAD THIS ENTIRE ORDER BY MYSELF?
  • Items weighing approximately 50 lbs or more
  • Large quantities of materials
  • Bulky or oversized items
  • Items that reasonably require two people
  • Your own ability to safely handle the materials

Never assume someone will be available to help you unload.

5
⏱️

Need Unloading Help? Get Confirmation

If you need help unloading, immediately message the customer through the GRUNT in-app messaging feature.

Send This Message

“Hi, my name is [YOUR NAME], and I’m your GRUNT today. Could you please confirm that you will have someone available to help me unload the order at the drop-off location? If I don’t receive a response within 10 minutes, I will need to cancel the order. Thank you!”

✓ Help Confirmed Proceed with the delivery.
✕ No Help Available Do not proceed if you cannot unload safely yourself.
✕ No Response After 10 minutes, do not proceed. Cancel the order.
Never Assume

Confirm the help you need BEFORE heading to the supplier.

6
📲

Check Your Messages Before Pickup

Before heading to the supplier, check the GRUNT in-app messaging feature.

  • Order numbers
  • Supplier confirmation details
  • Photos or screenshots
  • Barcodes or QR codes
  • Special pickup instructions
  • Contact information
  • Delivery instructions
Many national retailers use barcodes or QR codes to retrieve online orders. Make sure you can access them before arriving.
7
🚙

Head to the Pickup Location

Once you understand the order and have received any necessary confirmation, proceed to the pickup location.

Be on time and go to the exact pickup location provided in the order.

If Delayed

“Just a quick update—I’m on my way, but I’ve hit some traffic. I’ll keep you posted.”

8
🏪

Follow the Supplier’s Pickup Process

Every supplier is different.

  • Contractor or pro desk
  • Customer service
  • Curbside
  • Warehouse or loading area
  • Online-order pickup area
  • Lockbox or other pickup process

Be professional and courteous.

  • Customer’s name
  • Order or confirmation number
  • GRUNT / DELIVERY as authorized pickup name, when applicable
  • Barcode or QR code
  • Your ID, if requested
9
⚠️

If There’s a Pickup Problem — Message the Customer

If the supplier:

  • Cannot locate the order
  • Says the order is not ready
  • Will not release the order
  • Needs additional information
  • Says something is missing
  • Provides conflicting information

Do not guess or make decisions on behalf of the customer.

Suggested Message

“I’m at the supplier, but they’re having trouble locating your order. Can you please confirm the order number or send me the pickup confirmation?”

10
💪

Get Help Loading When Needed

Most suppliers can assist with loading heavier or bulky materials.

Ask the supplier for loading assistance when you need it.

Safety First

Never risk injury or damage trying to handle something yourself. Ask for help.

11
🔍

Verify the Order Before Leaving

Do not automatically assume the supplier gave you the correct or complete order.

  • Materials generally match the order
  • Quantities appear correct when reasonably possible
  • No obvious damage
  • All obvious parts or pieces are included
  • Nothing appears obviously incorrect
If something appears missing, incorrect, or damaged, contact the customer before leaving.

You are the transporter—not the purchaser.

12
🪢

Secure the Load

  • Materials cannot easily shift or fall
  • Items do not create an unsafe driving condition
  • Your visibility is not dangerously obstructed
  • The load does not exceed safe vehicle capacity
  • Items requiring securing are properly secured
Before You Leave

If the load does not look safe, don’t leave the supplier until the issue is corrected.

13
📡

Let the Customer Know You’re on the Way

Once the order is loaded and you’re leaving the supplier, send the customer a quick update.

Suggested Message

“Got it! Your order is loaded and I’m heading your way.”

Good communication keeps everyone on the same page.
14
📍

Deliver to the Correct Location

Deliver the order to the exact drop-off location provided in the GRUNT order details.

If you’re unsure where the customer wants the materials placed, message them before unloading.

Do Not Assume

Do not leave materials somewhere different simply because it is easier or more convenient.

15
📦

Unload Safely

If you can safely unload the order yourself, proceed with unloading.

If unloading assistance was confirmed, wait for the appropriate person to assist you.

If the situation at the delivery location is different from what the customer confirmed, stop and message the customer.

Your Safety Comes First

Never risk an injury to complete a delivery.

16
📸

Document & Complete the Delivery

Before marking the GRUNT complete, confirm:

  • You are at the correct delivery location
  • The entire order has been unloaded
  • Materials were placed at the agreed-upon location
  • You followed the customer’s reasonable drop-off instructions
Protect Yourself — Take Additional Photos

Before you click “Finish Delivery,” take additional photos showing the materials after they have been unloaded and delivered.

Send these photos directly to the customer using the GRUNT in-app messaging feature.

  • The materials that were delivered
  • The quantity and general condition of the items
  • Where the materials were left
  • Anything else helpful in documenting the delivery
These photos create an additional record of what you delivered, its condition, and where you left it.
Finish the Delivery

Once the additional photos have been sent to the customer, click “Finish Delivery,” take the required final proof-of-delivery photo, and submit it to close out the order.
